For the best part of the last three years at Stonyhurst, MUN has formed a key part of my development, whether that be in leadership, confidence or debating. Now that I am in my last year, I feel this conference will be a fitting end to my MUN journey. I had so much fun serving as part of the Secretariat last year, and now I hope this year's conference can surpass that of last year's, providing a compelling experience for all involved.
In that sense, this conference almost feels bittersweet. Nevertheless, I encourage all delegates who have signed up to get involved throughout the course of the day: it might sound like a cliché but I promise you, it will be over before you know it! To all those familiar faces who are returning to our conference, I welcome you back and hope you will continue to get involved with the MUN for as long as you are a part of your respective societies; for those of you who are new to our conference, get involved and have fun whilst doing so. This will certainly prove to be an engaging conference for all, regardless of skill level.

Some of my best memories have been made through MUN. From Rasputin dances as a Russian delegate, to awful duets of ‘Love is an open door’, MUN has created a space where I feel myself. Whether being intellectually challenged and attempting to solve some of the most serious issues our world faces with people who I have just met or reconnecting with old faces and creating crisis solutions which really really should never have passed: I have loved every minute.
I want nothing more than to give back to MUN as it has given so much to me. I thank you all for coming and wish you a productive and rewarding conference.
